Danilis Georgiou’s art object is an organic form woven using traditional Cypriot techniques. He chooses this craft to emphasize a connection to origins and the continuity of time. The form symbolizes a point or trace from which the composition emerges, reflecting the intersections of the past, present, and future.
While traveling through Cyprus, Danilis Georgiou sought out weaving masters. Very few remain, and the craft is nearly lost. Meeting them became an inspiring experience for him: the masters were surprised by his interest, and he felt a deep connection as he watched their work preserve memory. This object symbolizes the preservation of cultural heritage and the role of traditions in the modern world. Its lines and traces connect generations, passing on warmth and memories.
